Victor, Victoria
Victoria was a "UCLA co-ed" created by Cal's rally-comittee. Using AOL instant messenger "she" had been chatting with [USC guard] Gabe [Pruitt] for the last week online. Gabe and several of his teammates were all set to go to Westwood when they got back tonight so that they could party with Victoria and her friends. At the game today when he first was introduced in the starting lineup the chants began to start. "Victoria, Victoria, and then followed by her phone number!"
The look on Gabe's face when he turned to the bench after the first Victoria chant was priceless. It was unlike anything I have ever seen from a opposing player. He was in shock. It was hilarious. Transcripts of their conversation were handed out to the bench. My personal favorite quotes by Gabe: "You look like you have a very fit body." and "Now I want to c u so bad."
Postscript: Pruitt went 3/13 from the field and Cal gained a much-needed 11 point win as they try to make their way into the last few selections of the NCAA tournament. I'm not sure if the prank was the difference in the game, but it certainly looks to have been a big factor.

That's awesome, although I think they chanted Gabe's phone number, which he had given to "Victoria" in preparation for the hot date.
Thanks for the correction, I was probably misreading the original.
Actually, I wrote the text that you copied and you got it right. I was the one who had it wrong. Both Gabe's number and Victoria's number were chanted, mostly Gabe's though.
Does anyone know this guy's cell number or screen name?

No matter which phone numbers were actually chanted, I think it's a pretty safe bet that nobody chanted this full quotation:
"Victoria, Victoria, and then followed by her phone number!"

brilliant prank. not terribly kind or sporting but truly brilliant.
This was quite brillant. I was in the student section. I haven't laughed that hard for awhile.
Are you guys nuts? This is a pretty lame prank. "Ha ha you wanted to go out with a girl but it was really me. Gabe Pruitt likes girls!" How old are these guys who came up with this? Twelve? I'm ashamed of the entire UC system.
Sounds really immature of the UC folks.....sounds to me like they cracked themselves up! How silly! No reflection on Gabe....he did what ever any other guy on any team would have done (assuming they too like girls).
